Bylaw Review

Submissions Deadline:

The following Selwyn District Council bylaws are under review. Submissions have now closed and the Council is deliberating on them.

Local authorities are required to review their bylaws under Section 158 of the Local Government Act (LGA) 2002.  All bylaws that were made before 1 July 2003 must be reviewed no later than 1 July 2008.

These bylaws and the Statements of Proposal can be obtained by clicking on the links above or, during ordinary office hours, from our service centres in South Terrace Darfield, High Street Leeston (Library), Gerald Street Lincoln and Norman Kirk Drive Rolleston (off Rolleston Drive) or by phoning 347 2800 or 318 8338.

The submissions deadline is 4pm, Monday, 17 March 2008.  To be accepted, your submission must be dated and signed (if posted or faxed) and must state:

• your name, postal address, phone or fax and email address;

• whether you support or oppose the proposal or particular aspects of it;

• your reasons;

• any changes that you wish us to make; and whether you wish to speak at a hearing.

Your submission must be in legible text, whether on a council submission form, hand-written, typed or computer-generated, and may be delivered by:

• fax (03 347 2800),

• email (keri.harrison@selwyn.govt.nz),

• hand-delivery (at a service centre in Leeston, Darfield, Lincoln or Rolleston),

We will send an acknowledgement that your submission has been received.

If you wish to speak in support of your submission at a council hearing, please say so in your submission.  The hearings are scheduled to be held between the 4^th and 18^th of April 2008 starting at 9 am in the Rolleston Service Centre, Norman Kirk Drive (off Rolleston Drive).
