Selwyn District Council is currently developing its next Long-Term Plan for 2018-2028.

This will outline the projects, renewals, and services that the Council believes our community wants over the next 10 years.

Our population, at more than 59,000, is now the equal third-largest in the South Island, after Christchurch and Dunedin. Our size creates many great opportunities for families and businesses, but is also challenging – as growth is expensive and we need to be planning for the 80,000 of us who will be living here in 10 years’ time.

Over the next few months we’ll fine tune our draft plan, and in April we’ll release our consultation document and seek community feedback on the decisions we face and the projects we’re proposing.

Visit the Long Term Plan page for a first look at some of the issues and decisions we will be asking our community about in April. More information, including details, timings and costs of proposed projects, will be available when consultation opens.
