Construction of the new $5.8 million West Melton Community and Recreation Centre is planned to begin at the end of this month. The new 1900m2 building will be a modern facility for the fast-growing West Melton area. The building’s foundation is currently being prepared, with construction expected to be completed at the end of 2018.

Tai Tapu community facilities taking shape

Walls have been erected and the roof is about to go on at the new Tai Tapu Community Centre and it’s on track to be completed by June 2018. This facility, located at Rhodes Domain, is multi-purpose in nature and will be used for meetings, social events and functions as well as providing a venue for local sports groups. The new Playcentre and associated playground on the old hall site in Tai Tapu township is completed and up and running.

Foster Park carparks

The Foster Park and Aquatic Centre carparks on Broadlands Drive have been completed. Users of these facilities can now take their pick of 190 free spaces. Both carparks have designated drop-off areas and space for buses.
