Selwyn commuters can now access Smart Travel Canterbury

The app aims to save time, money, and reduce congestion by matching travellers with like-minded individuals.

Users can match with commuters who share similar routes using the new Smart Travel app, which is available for download at the App Store or on Google Play.

The app and website (www.smarttravel.org.nz) allow users to enter their starting point and destination, their days and times for departure and arrival, as well as travel method, using Google Maps to estimate travel time and public transport options. Based on these criteria a list of registered commuters who match the user will be provided. Users must register and be logged in to be able to access contact details for their carpool matches to make arrangements.

All new registrations on the site during July will go into a draw to win a $150 Prezzy card from Smart Travel.

To register or for further information see www.smarttravel.org.nz.
