Temporary pool closure

Current location in the site

The 25 metre lap pool at the Selwyn Aquatic Centre in Rolleston will be closed on Wednesday 17 January through to Friday 19 January, and won’t be available for swimming during this period. It will reopen on Saturday 20th. A small number of tiles need to be replaced in the pool which requires the pool be drained of water.

The rest of the Aquatic Centre, including the hydrotherapy, toddler, learn to swim, leisure, lazy river and spa pools will be open as normal while the retiling is carried out. The Centre is open from 6am–9pm Monday–Friday and 8am–8pm at the weekend.

“The retiling has been planned to take place during these dates in order to complete the retiling work before Swim School lessons begin on Monday 29 January for Term 1,” says Kathy Moore, Selwyn Aquatic Facilities Manager.

“By undertaking this maintenance of the 25 metre pool during summer, our customers have the option of choosing to swim at the community pools during the closure.”

Aquafitness classes begin for 2018 from Monday 22 January so will not be disrupted by the pool closure.
