Work Programme 2007-2008
The Selwyn Community Plan
2006-2016
The Selwyn Community Plan
is our name for what the Local Government Act 2002 calls the
Long Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP).
It spans four volumes which can be read by clicking on the
links below.
Purpose
The Act requires all local authorities to have a Community
Plan which sets out
the Council's long-term goals, work programmes and services
for the next ten years. out.
These goals must aim to promote community well-being as
defined by the "community outcomes" that local people
desire.
Community Outcomes
Community outcomes are at the heart of the Community
Plan. They are the high priority goals that people consider
important for the economic, social, environmental and
cultural well-being of their area.
Community outcomes can be identified through paper
questionnaires, submissions, referenda, workshops, surveys and commissioned research.
The current list of
draft community outcomes is based on
community
surveys, reviews of earlier research and
a questionnaire that was
placed in the two most widely read community newspapers.
Budget and Work Programme
The Community Plan's budget and work programme are
reviewed each year and adjusted for changing conditions and
priorities.
The
budget and work programme for
2007-2008 was
adopted in June 2007 and
can be read here.
