PUBLIC NOTICE OF REQUIREMENT BY THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION

Form 19, Section 169, Resource Management Act 1991
Selwyn District Council has received
notice of a
requirement for a
designation from the Minister of Education.
The Minister, as the Requiring Authority,
seeks to designate an area of 10.5544 hectares for educational
purposes so that buildings and other structures may be erected,
maintained and used on the site for these purposes, including an early childhood education facility, a primary school and a secondary school.
Therefore,
the purpose of the designation will be noted in the Selwyn District Plan
as 'Education Purposes (Early Childhood, Primary School and
Secondary School)'.
The site is on the western side of Lowes Road, continuing through to Goulds Road,
and its legal description is Lot 1 DP 74302 and Sec 1 SO 346757. The land,
which is owned by the
Ministry of Education is currently vacant and undeveloped and has
been zoned as Living 1.

Submissions
Any person or organisation may make a submission to the Selwyn District Council supporting or opposing the designation.
Submissions must be in writing and in accordance with
Form 21 of the Resource
Management Regulations, which is available from any Council service
centre or here.

At a later date, all submissions received will be reviewed and the Council will make a recommendation to the Requiring Authority.
The Requiring Authority will then accept or reject in whole or in part the recommendation made. If submitters or the Council are
not satisfied with the Requiring Authority’s decision they may then appeal to the Environment Court.
