A Mayoral Relief Fund has been setup by the Council to recieve funds for those wishing to contribute to the relief effort.
The purpose of this fund is to provide financial relief or assistance to meet the welfare or needs of people affected by a significant event in the district.
This fund is operated as a Selwyn District Council account as per the Trust Deed.
While we appreciate the thought and offers for support for those affected by a disaster, we are only accepting financial donations, and asks that people understand that offering clothing (new or used), goods of any kind or offers of voluntary assistance are not immediately helpful in a disaster situation.
