Current location in the site
During an emergency getting accurate information on what has happening, to who, and where, is critical in order for the Emergency Operations Centre to formulate a response plan.
If you have information that you feel would be of help please ring the Selwyn District Council office 03 347 2800 / 03 318 8338 or email civildefence@selwyn.govt.nz
Some of the information during an emergency that can be useful for us to know is :
- What utility(s) are disrupted (e.g water, sewerage, power, phone, roading)
- over what area
- how long can people cope without these
- Is anyone's life likely to be in danger - Is something happening which is life threatening
- What is the threat
- How many are effected - Past events and Knowledge
- If in past similar events a problem occurred in your community
check on it, and let us know what you found.
