Current location in the site
The fee falls due on 1 July and may be paid at the service centres in Leeston, Darfield, Lincoln or Rolleston, or in the prepaid return envelope provided with your registration form.
At this stage, we cannot accept electronic payments, i.e. through internet or telebanking.
All Registration Fees are inclusive of GST.
If paid by due date, the cost will be only:

$30 for the first dog
-
$20 for each additional dog owned by the same person and held at the same locality.
If paid after due date, the cost, including penalty fee, will be:

$45 for the first dog

$30 for each additional dog owned by the same person and held at the same locality.
Tag and Collar Fees

The fee for a replacement dog tag is $5 and for a dog collar $6-$8 depending on size.
Seizure Fee

If an Animal Control Officer seizes a wandering dog and returns it to the owner, the officer can charge a seizure fee of $45.
Impoundment Fees
If the Council's Animal Control Officers impound a dog, the following fees will apply:

$45 for the first impoundment

$67.50 for the second
-
$135 for the third
Other charges are:
-
an administration fee of $11.25 per impounding
-
a feeding fee of $32.50 per dog per day or part thereof
-
officer's time and mileage at a fixed fee of $50.00.

(where applicable) a destruction fee of $11.25
These fees and charges are set under Sections 37, 38 and 68 of the Dog Control Act 1996.
