Summer Skate Jam Lincoln

Calling all skaters! Come along and enjoy the 2017 Summer  Skate Jam series at your local Selwyn skate park. These eight events  are to encourage children and young people into skating with free gear hire and coaching from experienced skaters along with great tunes.

Prizes up for grabs for best trick competition where participants can show off their moves.

Quiz Night - Rolleston School PTA
Date/Time: Friday 31 March, Doors open 7pm
Location: Rolleston School Hall

A fabulous fun night out for the adults only, with two hilarious hosts!

Coin toss, great prizes, cash bar and supper included. $60 per team of up to 6.

Doors open 7pm for 7.30pm start at Rolleston School Hall.

Le Cabaret de la Vie

Ma Bell brings her famous travelling pop up cabaret road show to Selwyn for an evening of classic Blues Jazz, Burlesque, vaudeville and Music Hall Theatre.  Featuring La Crème de la Crème of Canterbury musicians, performance artists and entertainers all coming together for what promises to be a night to remember.

Guests include Scottish born urban folk blues jazz singer songwriter Isabella (Izzy) Miller Bell Aka Ma Bell, Janice Gray, Elizabeth Braggins, Graham Wardrop,Tom Rainey, Bob Heinz and Mike Kime with a special guest appearance from multi award winning burlesque star Bonita Danger Doll.

West Melton Country Fete

Date/Time: 2 April 2017, 11am

An Autumn Fete full of preserves, baking, produce plus much more!

With great excitement, we are planning a fabulous Country Fete in honour of West Melton School. The fete will be held on April 2017, from 11am - 4pm at the school and the aim is to raise funds for new play areas and items like shade sails and seating to complete the new buildings.

Entry will be a GOLD COIN donation per family


Relay For Life Selwyn 2017

Date/Time: 1-2 April 4pm Saturday through until 10am Sunday

Presented by: The Cancer Society

Relay For Life is an inspiring community event that gives everyone a chance to:

  • Celebrate cancer survivors and carers,
  • Remember loved ones lost to cancer and
  • Fight back by raising awareness and funds to support the work of Cancer Society.

Relay For Life is an overnight, walking Relay done in teams of ten or more people. It's for people of all ages and fitness levels. Anyone can take part!

Prebbleton Craft Group Craft Day
Date/Time: Every second Thursday 7-9pm
Location: Prebbleton Cottage, Cnr Blakes & Springs Road
Presented by: Prebbleton Craft Group

Newly formed Prebbleton Craft Group welcomes people to join them to create a variety of craft projects.

It is an opportunity for people with a passion for craft to connect, share skills and craft together.

Lincoln BioBlitz

A FREE event for families. BioBlitz is a scientific race against time to count as many different species as we can in a 24-hour period. The opening by Ruud Kleinpaste the well-known “Bugman” will mark the start of an exciting 24hrs of exploration and discovery. Come and join scientists from Lincoln University, Landcare Research, Department of Conservation and more on a hunt for anything that swims, flies, grows, crawls and hides!

Lincoln Road Runners

Tuesdays from 6pm
Starts at:
Lincoln Uni
Routes: 3km & 6km
It is designed to get like minded people together for weekly exercise in a friendly, supportive environment. There is a handicap start so you are running with people of a similar ability. Entry is by gold coin donation. Registration from 5:40pm outside the Lincoln University Recreation Centre.

Ellesmere Road Runners

Wednesdays from 6pm
Starts at:
  Leeston Physiotherapy.
Routes: 3km & 6km
A 3km circuit caters for both walkers and runners. The runs have handicap starts, so you run with people of your own ability. All ages and abilities are welcome.
There is a gold coin entry fee and you enter on the night. 6k runners please be registered by 5.45pm.

Malvern Road Runners

Tuesdays from 6.30pm
Starts at:
  Malvern Netball Centre
Routes: 3km & 6km
Registration begins at 6.10pm and the first of the 6km runners leave at 6.30pm. This race has a handicap start so that you’re running with people of your own ability and all competitors finish around the same time. This caters for all speeds, experience and fitness levels, so don’t be intimidated!
