The District Plan is a living document and there are plan change submissions on a continuing basis. You can view the proposed changes, where they are in the process and how to make submissions.
District Development
Selwyn is one of the fastest developing communities in the country, and Council is endeavouring to ensure that the District's future development is of a high quality and complements the existing townships and the rural setting. The Council have drafted structure plans and strategic policies to guide future development of the District.

Growth Model
The Selwyn growth model provides population projections at a township level up to 2041.
Heritage
Part of our heritage lies in buildings and trees around the district. Significant ones are listed in the District Plan. You can view these and make a submission for other buildings or trees to be included.
Private Plan Change Policy
An individual can request a change to the District Plan. This is called a Private Plan Change. The Council has a policy to cover the Private Plan change and we recommend that you contact us to discuss your proposal in advance.
