Guidelines For Burning in Rural Areas

We are currently in a Restricted Fire Season.
The following guidelines apply to burning in the outdoors:
Outdoor burning within residential areas is not a permitted activity.
In accordance with the Environment Canterbury Clean Air plan only the burning of crop residue, vegetation, paper, cardboard and untreated wood is permitted. If you wish to report the burning of non permitted wastes such as tires, plastics, treated wood, please contact the Environment Canterbury Pollution Control hotline (03) 366 4663 or 0800 76 55 88.
