Open Season
During an Open season you may light a fire in the open air subject to restrictions.
Restricted Season
During a Restricted season you cannot light a fire in the open air without a fire permit issued by the Principal Rural Fire Officer, and are also subject to restrictions.
Prohibited Season
During a Prohibited season you cannot light a fire in the open air unless a special permit has been issued. During these times it is considered that the risk is too high that a damage-causing fire could start. During a Prohibited Season all previous held fire permits issued are suspended.
