Community Surveys The council conducts surveys to:

2005 Residents Survey [PDF 85 kb] 2006 LTCCP Outcomes Survey [PDF 510 kb] 2007 Residents Survey [PDF 520 kb] Residents and community surveys Our residents and community surveys are conducted by telephone with large samples (typically more than 1,000) and high response rates (typically in the 70-80% range). Our 2007 Residents Survey was conducted in September-October 2007. Other surveys Most of our other surveys are conducted through self report forms, either delivered through the post or made available on online. Typically, the response rates to these are less than 30% and sometimes as low as 1%. For this reason, they should be seen more as consultation exercises rather than statistically accurate representations of residents' views. Community Outcomes Questionnaires The LTCCP Outcomes Questionnaires are self report forms that go to all ratepayers in a given area, rather than to a random sample. Typically, responses are from those who feel strongest about particular issues, rather than the general 'silent majority'. The purpose of these questionnaires is to give residents an opportunity to say which community outcomes they want included in our Long-term Council Community Plan (LTCCP).
