WALKING AND CYCLING IN SELWYN

Walking and cycling are much cheaper, healthier and friendlier to the environment than motor transport.

Biking and hiking are also great ways to get fit, save fuel and, yes, have fun. And now is the best time to do it - in the late summer build-up to Bike Wise Week.

In fact, people who live and work in Lincoln and Rolleston are being encouraged to leave the car at home and bike to work or the shopd on national "Go By Bike" Day, on Wednesday, 27.

Early bird cyclists will be rewarded with a free breakfast served at the Lincoln and Rolleston community centres from 7.30am to 8.30am. All you have to do is register (for catering purposes) and then roll up on the day - on ya bike of course.
