Presbyterian Support Upper South Island

Presbyterian Support Upper South Island is a charity, providing Family Works social services for children, young people and families/whānau and Enliven services for older people in Christchurch, Mid Canterbury, North Canterbury, Nelson, West Coast and Marlborough.

Our mission is to support children, young people, families/whānau, older people to be safe, strong and connected.

Main activities and services

Family Works is about empowering people to help themselves as they face the inevitable challenges of family life and to work with them so they can flourish. Family Works services include parenting support, family dispute resolution, social work, counselling, psychology services, health promotion, budgeting advice and volunteer support. Family Works Youth Service supports young parents (16-18yrs) and youth (16-17yrs) who require financial support from the government and social, budgeting and education assistance. Enliven Positive Ageing services are for older people who are living in their own home and are at risk of becoming lonely and isolated. Services include day activity programmes, community social work and support, falls prevention education, budgeting support, health support and, in some areas, transport services.
