In collaboration with Youth Pathways (Te Ara Rangatahi) and Ministry of Social Development, Selwyn District Council is providing a six week group Internship in the following areas. To support career pathways:

    • Running a public facility
    • Organising and delivering events
    • Running recreation programmes
    • Working in a library
    • Organising and delivering community programmes and activities

Local government is a great place to work and it really does improve community life. Skills and experiences gained through these roles are also hugely relevant to a wide range of other jobs in the community.

Selwyn District Council is keen to play its role alongside other Selwyn businesses, in providing work experiences and relevant skills development for Selwyn residents, with a particular focus on young people aged 18–24 years.

To be eligible for this Internship you need to be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or refugee living in Selwyn district, aged over 18 years, and looking for work because you aren't in work or are in paid employment for less than 30 hours per week

Internship Programme starts on Monday 16 May 2022.
