If you are intending to subdivide a property that contains existing buildings you will need to consult with council to ensure that upon completion of the approved subdivision, the buildings will continue to comply with the NZ Building Code as nearly as reasonably practicable under section 116A of the Building Act. Council will assess compliance in relation to means of escape from fire, access and facilities for persons with disabilities, and protection of other property.
