The Rolleston Community Centre – a community focused multi-purpose venue

Selwyn District is operating at Orange Settings under the COVID-19 Protection Framework. Under the Orange settings a vaccine pass is  required to enter the Rolleston Community Centre. For more information see our COVID-19 page.

Rolleston Community Centre – a new focus as a community arts and youth hub.

There’s an exciting new chapter ahead for Rolleston Community Centre – as we shift our focus towards providing space for community arts and youth activities from early 2022.

Many activities previously held here are now relocating to new facilities including the Selwyn Sports Centre and Te Ara Ātea (opening in November 2021). This opens up exciting new possibilities for the centre.

A recent analysis identified a need for more community arts space, and catering for a growing youth population will also be an important part of the centre’s evolution.

Selwyn District Council invites Expressions of Interest from groups or individuals who would like to use the centre for community activities such as music, dance, crafts, theatre, art, painting, sculpture and other activities, from early 2022.

Expressions of Interest are open now and close at 5pm, Sunday 15 August 2021.

Until November 2021 the Rolleston Library is co-located in the same building.

Exercise classes previously held at the Rolleston Community Centre are now operating from the Selwyn Sports Centre. Please check the Selwyn Sports Centre for class information.

Exciting workshops on offer in Term 4

Croissant Workshop - Saturday 6 November. 9am - 1pm or 2 - 6pm

Learn how to leavened layer dough to create famous croissants, pain au chocolat or Chocolatine and more! Bookings required $45 per person.

Introduction to Crystals - Saturday 20 November 10am -12pm

Introduction to crystal healing through meditations and practical exercises. you will clear and energize the heart space using Rose Quartz and Citrine and will receive crystals to take home. Bookings required $20 each

Bingo for Seniors - Saturday 20 November 7-9pm

Come along for an evening of Bingo fun! Its a great chance to have an enjoyable night out with friends and win prizes. Bring along a plate for supper after the game. Tea and coffee provided.

Bookings required $3 entry includes one card.

Market Day Extravaganza - Saturday 11 December 9.30 - 11am

Come and be apart of our market day extravaganza.  We will have a kids market, Car boot sale and a Clothes swap all at the same time.  Stalls cost $5, bookings required. Gold coin donation to clothes swap.

Healing Herbs Workshop - Saturday 11 December, 1-3pm.

Learn about the healing properties of common garden flowers and herbs and make some luscious herbal products to take home.  $20 per person bookings required.
