There are a range of research, strategies and reports available to assist your decision-making and benchmarking. To participate in our 'live local-buy local' campaign list for free on the Council's BizOnline Directory. Customer Services staff are available to assist with building consents, resource consents, and alcohol licences. A duty planner is available to assist with planning and consents.
The Council hosts regular training courses, coaching and networking for entrepreneurs in Selwyn. Key Sector Development
The district's economic base is centred on our natural advantages of land and water. The Food and Beverage sector (agriculture) contributes nearly 30% to our annual GDP and creates almost one third of the jobs. The Visitor sector is growing, with 6 sensational ski-fields, nationally significant gardens and wetlands, unique bouldering and adventure biking, and award-winning aromatic wines.
