COVID-19 in our community

There are practical things you can do to make sure you are prepared for self-isolation. Canterbury District Health Board has created a one-stop web page with advice for Cantabrians on being ready and what to do if you test positive for COVID-19:

Support for farmers

If you’re a farmer or a grower getting prepared for when Omicron arrives in your community, there is some support available.

Guidance on the COVID-19 Protection Framework targeted at the about primary sector can be downloaded from the Ministry for Primary Industries website.

Farmers and growers are encouraged to make a contingency plan to minimise the risk of further COVID-19 related disruptions. You can download a template and other relevant information from primary sector organisations including Federated Farmers:

If you get COVID-19 on the farm reach out to your local Rural Support Trust for support. You will be able to:

  • access help to put a plan in place for getting through COVID-19 on farm
  • access one-to-one support from a facilitator, who will be available to keep in regularly touch by phone
  • bee sent wellbeing resources.

This will be in addition to support offered by your health-care provider.
