Our Digital Library is always open where you can read, watch, listen learn and play any time. We also have click and collect services. Contact the libraries to find out more.

Animal control including dog registration
Dog registration
You can pay your dog registration online or give us a call on 0800 SELWYN (735 996). You can also pay your dog registration at the Council Rolleston offices, or at any of our libraries and service centres. When visiting these centres face masks are required. Please maintain one-metre physical distancing from others, where possible. Please do not visit if you are unwell or have been in contact with someone who is unwell.
Free dog microchipping clinics
Our microchipping clinics have been paused during the current Omicron outbreak. We will continue to review this and keep you updated on any changes.
Building inspections
Building inspections will take place with our inspectors distancing wherever possible and wearing masks after lock up stage of the build at Red and Orange traffic light settings.
With COVID-19 still in the community there may still be occasions where have reduced capacity for carrying out inspections. Please allow some buffer in your plan for a longer wait time for your inspection.

Consents and planning
You can apply for a building or resource consent online.
You can speak to to the building team or a duty planner by giving us a call on 0800 SELWYN (735 996) or at our Council Rolleston offices.
LIMs, property records and archives
You can apply for or cancel a Land Information Memorandum (LIM) report online. Our property records and archives are also available online.
