Updated for Alert Level 2
If you don't see the answer to your waste related question on this page, feel free to contact our Solid Waste team at email@example.com
Pines Resource Recovery Park / Transfer Station
The Pines Resource Recovery Park is open to the public however you will need to book a timeslot before you visit. You will need to book for any material type you are bringing to the transfer station, including recycling. Please take the time to read the booking terms and conditions.
These measures are in place to restrict the number of customers on site at a time as well as providing a contact tracing register in line with government advice.
We are unable to accept cash at this time. Paywave is the preferred method of payment. Credit and EFTPOS is available.
We will be increasing the number of timeslots available to 10 per half hour from Thursday 14 May.
Kerbside Collection and Drop-off Points
All kerbside collection is running as normal. Please continue to separate your rubbish, recycling and organics.
There has been a change to plastic acceptance criteria. We are now only able to accept plastics numbers 1, 2 and 5. Plastics 3, 4, 6 and 7 will need to go into the rubbish.
Bins are being delivered and repaired as normal.
Drop-off points for residents that are not on the collection route can still be used, as can the public recycling and rubbish facilities at Castle Hill Village, Arthur’s Pass and Lake Coleridge. Please follow Ministry of Health guidelines around social distancing and follow a one-in, one-out process. We recommend bringing and using hand sanitiser before and after using these.
The RFID tagging project will recommence under Alert Level 2. We will be sending out flyers to the areas where the tagging crew will be working.
