You can set up a Direct Debit Authority to pay your rates from a nominated bank account by either completing the online authority below or completing the form attached [PDF, 625 KB].
Please note: Online Direct Debit Authorities can only be set up where you have sole signing on the bank account provided. Where more than one signature is required for debits to your bank account please complete the form attached [PDF, 625 KB] and return it to us by email or post.
If you wish to cancel or stop an existing direct debit arrangements that you have with the Selwyn District Council please contact the Council in the first instance. If you cancel the direct debit authority directly with your bank there is a nine month security stand down period before Council can have it reinstated. This is because the Council is authorised to set up the direct debit arrangement directly with your bank, rather than you having to set it up with your bank.
