There are a number of buses services connecting Selwyn to the city and townships.

Services include:

  • Yellow line busYellow Line. This service travels from Rolleston through Templeton and the city on to New Brighton. Trips leave every 30mins weekdays and weekends
  • 80 Lincoln – Parklands. This service travels from Lincoln University and Township through Prebbleton and the city onto Parklands. Trips leave every 30 mins weekdays and weekends. View timetable and map
  • 820 Burnham – Lincoln via Rolleston. This service connects Burnham, Rolleston, Springston and Lincoln together. It travels hourly weekdays and weekends and provides connections to the Yellow Line service in Rolleston. View timetable and map
  • 85 Rolleston - City. This new service is designed to get residents from Rolleston to the city as quickly as possible in the mornings and back home in the afternoons. View timetable and map

Metrocard - Discounted Travel

Metrocard is a prepaid card that you can top up with cash and use to pay for your bus fare. Using a Metrocard instead of cash saves you at least 25% off fares, and if you're traveling Monday – Friday 2 times a day you can then receive weekend travel free. Bus services - how does it work?

Selwyn District Council is responsible for providing and maintaining bus stops, bus shelters and seats to support the public transport system, while Environment Canterbury is responsible for managing the bus services.
