Traffic and Parking Bylaw Public Consultation

We’re consulting on changes to the Selwyn District Council Traffic and Parking Bylaw.
The Council has adopted the draft Traffic and Parking Bylaw for public consultation. The draft Bylaw is an update of the 2009 Bylaw.
The proposed changes to the bylaw would allow for residents-only parking to be created in case of need. They would also clarify rules around parking on berms and planting or landscaping on a grass verge.
The proposed changes add electronic scooters to the bylaw and a provision prohibiting people from parking cars with ‘for sale’ signs.

Making a submission
Anyone can make a submission on the proposed changes to the Traffic and Parking Bylaw.

If you wish, you can ask to present your submission in person to a Hearings Panel. Please indicate this on the submission form, or advise us in your email.
Submissions on the bylaw are open until 5pm on Friday 18 October.
