Property and Rates
Property and Rates information is provided under the Sections 27 and 28 of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 and Section 41 of the Rating Valuations Act 1998, as an online representation of a Public Register.
Selwyn District Council is required to collect and maintain this information for the purposes of carrying out its functions under the above Acts. The Council is obliged to make this information freely available to members of the public, and may not prevent others from accessing property, valuation and rating details about your property. However, accounts information is not displayed on this website.
Rates Payments Online
Online payments can be made through our payment gateway POLi. If you would like to know more please select the links on the payment page.
In the case of providing us with information via an online form, we will use that information only to respond to your message and help us to provide for you the service you have requested. We only share your information with another agency if it is essential in order for that agency to resolve your request. Selwyn District Council does not collect information for commercial marketing.
The information Selwyn District Council holds about ratepayers and residents is required for lawful purposes used in the functioning of the Selwyn District Council and this information is sourced in accordance with Principle 2 of the Privacy Act. The information is held pursuant to the public register principals outlined in the Privacy Act.
