Since 1971, the Halswell Pottery Group has operated out of a historic cottage on the outskirts of Christchurch. We are a volunteer-run group with a diverse membership of creative potters. We run pottery classes, workshops and host visiting artists from around the South Island. There are currently 36 students learning pottery and we are welcoming new members all the time. We enjoy using a variety of kilns on site - wood, gas, electric, raku and a pit kiln. Our cottage is also home to our group gallery - a great place to buy locally made ceramics with something for everyone!
