Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Canterbury

Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Canterbury provides services and support for those with or affected by MS or Parkinson’s, which are life-long chronic neurological conditions.

Main activities and services

Our services empower and promote self-management and well-being:
  • Health services - provide professional face-to-face and phone consultations, health and wellbeing plans, navigation of the health system, and referrals to other services.
  • Social connectedness through support groups and activities – to connect people, aiming to reduce isolation.
  • Activation and exercise programs – both gym-facilitated and group exercise, to keep active and maintain wellness at our onsite gym. Provides community accreditation programs to exercise providers in the Canterbury area who work with people with MS and Parkinson's.
  • Education, workshops, and seminars - to empower people with information through education.
  • Training of health care professionals. (eg rest homes and other support agencies).
  • Up-to-date evidence-based information about MS and Parkinson's.
