On 12 May 2021 the Council adopted a new bylaw for keeping certain domesticated animals (excluding dogs), poultry and bees in urban areas of Selwyn. The new rules will come into effect on 1 July 2021, except the rules for cats which will come into force a year later, on 1 July 2022.
