Selwyn District Council reserves the right to seek further information relating to your rates payment extension. This may include, but is not limited to, confirmation from your employer of reduced hours or salary, or proof that your business is receiving the Government Covid-19 wage subsidy.

Preferred frequency of direct debit deductions *

Under this agreement it must be a minimum of $10 per week. Higher minimum payments are encouraged as this will lessen the amount you will pay later.

I wish to apply for a payment extension consisting of affordable payments to 30 November 2020, Direct Debit increase from 1 December 2020 to clear the balance on my account by 30 June 2021.

Do you have an existing direct debit arrangement in place with the Council?

  • Yes – unless you complete a new application form payment will be deducted from the bank account already provided
  • No – please set up a direct debit arrangement with the Council

You can set up a Direct Debit Authority to pay your rates from a nominated bank account by either completing the online authority or completing the form [PDF, 689 KB].

Please note: Online Direct Debit Authorities can only be set up where you have sole signing on the bank account provided.  Where more than one signature is required for debits to your bank account please complete the form [PDF, 689 KB] and return it to us by email or post.
