The Reconnect Project is an innovative and ambitious project aimed at getting people thinking differently about waste materials, showcasing recovery of materials from the waste stream, and alternative options to landfill.

The first stage of this project is currently underway and includes a relocated and expanded recycling and reusables drop-off area, under a canopy.

The second stage (2021-2022) will be the reuse shop, salvage material yard and education centre.

The third stage (2022-2023) includes a multi-purpose waste hub and landscape supplies yard.

The fourth stage (2023-2024) are the micro enterprise units making products out of waste materials. A unit each for wood, metal, fabric and textiles, and possibly one for a maker space or tool lendery.

Aspects of reuse, recycling and sustainability will be incorporated into many parts of the project.
