Code of Conduct

Selwyn District Council recognise that both the Code of Conduct and the Customer Promise are appropriate pieces of work.

Selwyn District Council is committed to fostering respectful, safe, and inclusive environments across all our services and spaces.

Our Code of Conduct outlines the rights and responsibilities of everyone who interacts with Council, whether in person, online, or over the phone. It sets clear expectations for respectful behaviour and communication, and reinforces our zero-tolerance stance on aggression, violence, and discrimination.

The Code of Conduct applies to:

  • Visitors to Council facilities and spaces
  • Users of Council services
  • Electronic communications with Council staff

By working together, we can ensure our spaces remain welcoming, safe, and supportive for everyone.
