When you can book
- Inspections can be booked during working days only.
- Requests made on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next working day.
Plan ahead:
- School holidays and public holidays may increase wait times.
- Factor this into your project schedule.
Information required to make a booking
Have the following ready when booking:
- Building consent number.
- Site address.
- Full name and phone number of the on-site contact for the day of inspection.
- Preferred inspection date.
- Type of inspection.
- Licensed building practitioner (LBP) details for restricted building work.
Having this information ready helps us process your booking faster and avoid delays.
Note:
- Pre-wrap inspections must have as-built frame and truss plans uploaded before your booking can be accepted.
- If required LBP details are not provided, your inspection may not go ahead.
How bookings work
Booking rules
- We usually book one inspection at a time.
Exceptions:
- Drainage inspections may be booked differently.
- Where building wrap allows, internal and external work may be inspected at the same time.
- Same-day bookings are not accepted.
- Rescheduling within 24 hours is treated as a missed booking (a re-inspection fee may apply).
- Failed inspections must be rebooked (they will roll over to the next available slot automatically).
- Contractors must be on site at the start of the confirmed time, or the inspection will be recorded as no access.
Waitlist
If your inspection is urgent:
- You can ask to be added to the waitlist.
- Being on the waitlist does not guarantee an earlier inspection.
If requesting an earlier inspection:
- Make sure your work is ready from the earliest requested date.
- We’ll contact you if an earlier inspection slot becomes available.
- Let us know if your work won’t be ready to avoid a failed inspection.
