This page provides high level overview information about resource consent applications received, decisions issued and also comprehensive data on our total workload and how we are tracking.

If you would like to find an update on your resource consent or a decision that was made, you can use the visualisation below to search for it by the consent ID if you know it. If you do not know the consent ID, you can search by applicant, location, legal description and consent type. You can also do a generic search and find all consents relating to a word, e.g. 'playground'. The tables in the visualisation can be sorted by selecting the header.

This is a first step in providing greater transparency in this function of Council and helping you find information on resource consents easier.

Things to note

The dashboard updates once a day, overnight so changes in status will not appear on the dashboard immediately.

In our current application management system, updates to the status of an application are managed manually by the processing planner. We can't guarantee 100% accuracy of every resource consent record displayed during processing.  If you think a record is incorrect, please contact the processing planner or the duty planner for assistance.

Future upgrades

Our system is due for a significant upgrade over the next few years.  Following this, we hope to provide the following functionality for applicants:

  • Online lodgement of applications
  • Management of all correspondence and documentation through a customer portal
  • Live tracking of applications, including working days
  • Post decision compliance monitoring
