CRETS (Christchurch Rolleston and Environs Transportation Study)
Strategic Transportation Study Completed
The final report of the Christchurch Rolleston and Environs Transportation Study (CRETS) should help to reduce traffic congestion to the west and south of Christchurch over the next 10 to 15 years.
We are pleased the study has been completed so we can start planning for the necessary improvement works, said the council's transportation portfolio holder, Deputy Mayor John Morten.
Key works will include:
- extending the Southern Motorway from Halswell Junction Road to south of Templeton;
- improving roading links between the growing townships of Rolleston, Lincoln and Prebbleton, and
- improving connections to Christchurch and between Rolleston and State Highway 1.
The report also has recommendations on cycling, walking and public transport.
