This work has been planned to reduce flooding risk in the area, without impacting areas already prone to flooding.

Traffic impacts

  • Temporary traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the work, allowing traffic flow in both directions.
  • A temporary speed limit of 30 km/h will be in place to keep everyone safe.

Driveway and pedestrian access

Kerrs Road - One-way system

HEB will be carrying out urgent island repair works at the intersection of Kerrs Road and Wards Road in Rolleston on Thursday 4 June, following damage to the traffic island.

Traffic impacts

  • No entry from Wards Road onto Kerrs Road
  • A one-way system will be in place on Kerrs Road from Railway Road towards Wards Road

The work is expected to take approximately 1.5 hours.

From late October until the end of September 2026, Fulton Hogan will be carrying out Stage One of the Lincoln Town Centre Upgrade.

May and June 2026 works

Water main night works on Gerald Street from 7 June to 28 June 2026

Night works will begin on Sunday 7 June 2026 on a portion of Gerald Street in the Lincoln town centre and are expected to continue for approximately three weeks, between 7pm and 7am (Sunday to Thursday nights only).

These works involve realigning an existing water main to support the final road layout and ensure the ongoing reliability of the water network

What to expect

  • Overnight activity, including some noise from construction equipment and lighting in the area
  • Traffic management in place, including a temporary 30km/h speed limit
  • Changes to vehicle access for nearby properties and businesses at times
  • Pedestrian access maintained around the work site where possible

Works are scheduled overnight to minimise disruption during the day, when traffic volumes are higher.

Additional information

  • A separate notice will be provided ahead of any required water shutdowns
  • Rubbish and recycling collection will continue as usual, with crews assisting if needed
  • Please allow extra travel time, follow traffic management, and take care around the work site

Water main night works map 7 June

Maurice Street and West Belt - temporary closures from 8 June 2026 to 6 July 2026

As part of Stage One of the Lincoln Town Centre project, we’ll be completing road reconstruction works at the intersections of Maurice Street and West Belt with Gerald Street.

Work begins Monday 8 June 2026 and is expected to take around four weeks.  When this stage of work begins, William Street and Robert Street will reopen to two-way traffic, helping improve access through the town centre.

Temporary road closures will be in place during this period:

  • Maurice Street at the Gerald Street intersection will be closed
  • West Belt at the Gerald Street intersection will be closed
  • Detours will be in place via South Belt and Robert Street
  • West Belt (north) will temporarily be one way
  • Lyttelton Street will temporarily be one way

Footpath access will remain open, and access to properties, businesses and the public car parks will be maintained.

A temporary 30km/h speed limit will apply, please follow all signage and allow extra travel time.

Maurice St and West Belt map

Robert Street – temporary road closure from 18 May 2026 to 7 June 2026

We are continuing work as part of Stage One of the Lincoln Town Centre project on Robert Street, at the intersection with Gerald Street. This stage of work includes road reconstruction and construction of a new paved threshold as part of wider town centre improvements. Work is due to start on Monday 18 May 2026 and is expected to take around four weeks, with completion anticipated in mid June 2026.

  • This traffic management layout is in addition to the existing traffic management.
  • Robert Street at the intersection with Gerald Street, will be temporarily closed during this period.
  • There will be no access between Robert Street and Gerald Street, and motorists are asked to follow the signposted detours via South Belt and West Belt.
  • Access to the public car park will be via Maurice Street only, as the Gerald Street entrance will not be available.
  • Footpath access will remain open so pedestrians can move safely around the area, and access to local properties and businesses will be maintained.

Most work will take place Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 7.00pm, with some Saturday or night work if required. The schedule may change depending on weather conditions or road conditions, and updates will be provided if plans change.

A temporary 30km/h speed limit will be in place around the work site for the safety of workers and road users. Drivers should allow extra travel time, take care through the area, and follow all signage and traffic management in place.

Due to unforeseen ground conditions, additional time is required to complete this work. The road closure will remain in place until Friday 29 May 2026 to allow the works to be completed safely.

Prebbleton Roadworks - Hamptons and Trents Road

From 2 June to Friday 19 June, Urban Estates will be carrying out works in Prebbleton, including road widening and upgrades on Trents Road (from Penberley Road to Kingcraft Drive) and Hamptons Road (from Shands Road to Springs Road).

These works include the installation and upgrading of services such as power, telecommunications, wastewater, water, and stormwater, as well as water race improvements on Hamptons Road.

Traffic impacts

  • No entry from the Shands Road roundabout onto Hamptons Road
  • No westbound access on Trents Road between Kingcraft Drive and Penberley Road

Roads still open

  • Hamptons Road (westbound) between Springs Road and Shands Road will remain open
  • Trents Road (eastbound) between Shands Road and Springs Road will remain open

What’s happening?

From 16 March to 12 June, CORDE will be carrying out stream improvement works at Ryelands Pond in Lincoln to improve fish passage, replace the existing weir and remediate eroded stream banks.

Works include:

  • Reshaping and rock-armouring the stream banks
  • Installing a fish passage
  • Installing a permanent maintenance platform
  • Installing a waterwheel monument in the reserve
  • Tree removal
  • Removing the existing pedestrian footbridge and reinstating with a pathway
  • Native planting and landscaping

Driveway and pedestrian access

Driveway access for residents will not be affected.

  • A footpath closure will be in place from 16 March to 18 March while site access is established.  Please follow the onsite signage.
  • A temporary truck accessway will be in place on Ryeland Drive for the duration of work.
  • A section of the pathway in the reserve will be closed for the duration of works.

General information

Work will begin at around 7am and we aim to be completed by 6pm daily, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work.

There will be some truck movements, as well as vibration and noise from equipment as we work.  We will try and keep traffic, dust, and noise to a minimum.

What's happening?

From Monday 23 February until Friday 28 August large parts of the Stormwater Management Reserve at 93 Tosswill Road will be closed while infrastructural works are installed in the adjacent subdivision.

The partial closure of the reserve is necessary, as heavy machinery and trucks will access the subdivision through the park during this time.

As part of the new subdivision works, new reserve pathways and features will be installed, including upgrades to walking tracks, native planting, stream naturalisation and passive recreation spaces, as well as seating areas which will be constructed in and adjoining the reserve.

During Stage 1 and 2 of the subdivision, a recreation reserve will be constructed to provide children’s play facilities and seating and bike racks.

General information

Please follow all on site signage and instructions and always keep pets on a leash while using the reserve.
