Decisions on submissions to the Proposed District Plan were publicly notified on 19 August 2023. The period for making appeals to the Environment Court closed at 5pm, 6 October 2023.

Following the close of the appeal period, there was a 15 working day period within which other parties, being those who either made a submission relating to the subject matter of the proceeding or who have an interest greater than the general public, could join appeal proceedings.

These parties are known as Section 274 (s274) parties under the relevant section of the Resource Management Act. The period for s274 parties to join an appeal ended at 5pm, 30 October 2023.

A database of appeal points can be found here.

This identifies a list of those provisions that are subject to appeal, with detail of the relief sought by the appellants. This database also identifies consequential appeal points – those provisions that were not directly subject to an appeal but cannot be made fully operative as they are reliant on a provision that is being directly appealed.  The database also provides a summary of all s274 party notices recevied.
