Who can apply?

  • Individuals: Can apply directly for funding.
  • Teams: Applications must be submitted by the affiliated club, school, or community organisation on behalf of the team. Individual team members, coaches or team managers cannot apply directly.

Please ensure you have all necessary information and documentation ready before you begin, including:

  • If representing a school, team or community at a local, regional, national or international event or competition, evidence of selection or qualification must be attached to the application.
  • If representing a school, team or community, evidence may be required of endorsement from your local affiliated club/school.
  • Proof of the bank account (any one of these: a deposit slip, a letter from the bank, or a bank statement showing the bank account number).

As per the Community Funding Policy 5.3. Applicants and applications that may be connected to elected members of Council or the Malvern Community Board, or Council staff, need to declare any possible conflict of interest or any possible perception of conflict of interest.

  I agree that if the application is successful: 

- The organisation name and/or applicant name, project name, and amount of funding applied for and received will be publicly disclosed by the Selwyn District Council in Assessment Panel Meeting Agendas, Minutes, and on the Council website to ensure transparency.

- The grant will be used for the purpose specified in this application. 

- I/my organisation will provide a report on how the grant was used as soon as it is spent and in no circumstance later than one year of receiving the grant.

- I/my organisation acknowledges that funding is provided in accordance with the Selwyn District Council Community Grants Policy, and I agree to comply with it.
