Rolleston College Students Bring Colour and Creativity to ReNourish Community Garden

ReNourish Community Garden has been incredibly fortunate to receive the support and talent of young artists from Rolleston College. Since April 2026, twelve Year 10 students from the College’s Arts Department have been dedicating their time, creativity, and enthusiasm to designing and painting a mural on the community garden’s storage container.

Drawing inspiration from the beauty of Selwyn, the students developed their own unique design, incorporating the district’s mountains, rivers, stars, and the iconic kea. With paint generously sponsored by Resene and countless hours of hard work—including time during the school holidays—the students have transformed the container into a beautiful piece of artwork that brings colour and life to the garden.

The mural is nearly complete, and the students will return at the beginning of Term 4 to add the finishing touches. The ReNourish team are incredibly grateful for the dedication, skill, and pride these young artists have shown throughout the project.

The mural is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when schools, artists and community groups work together!
