This proposal was submitted to the Government's Head Start local government reform pathway on 7 August 2026. You can also read the joint letter from Hurunui, Waimakariri, Christchurch and Selwyn collectively endorsing the single proposal for Head Start submission.
Councillors and the Mayor will continue to work closely with the Canterbury Mayoral Forum on discussions and the work ahead.
