FairView Farm
Dating from 1903 and now being restored by reknown landscape archietct Gayle Souter-Brown and her husband, FairView's homestead gardens offer a sense of history, tranquility and year-round interest, with expansive lawns, historic trees, kitchen garden, orchard and nuttery, Paradise Garden, woodland, stream, deep borders, a pollinator garden and butterfly house. Based around the historic homestead, the gardens look out to Mt Torlesse, the Torlesse Lavender Fields, sheep and ducks. Public Open Days to the gardens and lavender fields are balanced by community access days.
Volunteering, and community groups are centred around the historic homestead or the new Club House in the Kitchen Garden. Launched in November 2025, Torlesse Lavender is being developed to the support the social and environmental aims of FairView Farm. Summer 2025/26 offers the inaugural pick-your-own and picnic days in the lavender.
Design workshops, artists retreats, therapeutic horticulture programmes, health and wellness and business mentoring, retail of plants and lavender based products, accomodation, agriculture and horticulture will all feature across this new enterprise.
