Rolleston
Rolleston, where the Midland railway line to the West Coast separates off from the main trunk line!
Rolleston is one of the fastest-growing towns in Aotearoa New Zealand. Due to its rapid development as a satellite town of Christchurch, Rolleston is a vibrant and exciting community - sections here now have a considerably higher value than the £3 per acre for which they were sold in 1850!
Rolleston's nearness to Christchurch allows residents to enjoy a well-serviced, friendly small-town lifestyle, close to the city. It is the hub for much of the South Island's trade through the thriving IZone business and industrial area north of the town.
The town itself has many parks, amenities and growing business areas, including the vibrant, new and growing town centre with shops, community spaces and Te Ara Ātea, which houses the town's library and a range of other services.
It is also home to the district's main park, Foster Park , which hosts the Selwyn Sports Centre opposite the district's most used and popular facility, the Selwyn Aquatic Centre .
