Lincoln
Lincoln is a thriving small town, that is an increasingly popular destination for people to live. Close to Christchurch and Rolleston and home to Lincoln University, with its Crown Research Institutes, commercial research facilities and high-performance sports courses, it combines great location with a charming village atmosphere.
The university's high-rise towers and historic red brick Ivey Hall are surrounded by some of the most fertile land in Canterbury, while the village itself is home to the enduring charm of Liffey Cottage and the rustic peace of Liffey Stream, Lincoln Wetlands and a large number of parks and reserves. It is also home to popular community events such as the annual Selwyn Sounds music festival and CultureFest.
Like many towns and townships in Eastern Selwyn around Christchurch City, Lincoln is growing rapidly and new developments are happening to keep the village charm while preparing the town for the future, including the Council's Lincoln Town Centre upgrade .
