When to apply

This Engineering Acceptance (EA) application is for proposed civil engineering works where Engineering Acceptance is required as part of a Resource Consent. This will typically apply to:

  • bare land subdivisions;
  • urban multi-unit developments of more than 12 buildings on a single site; or
  • all other circumstances which involve work on, affecting or with significant impact to Council infrastructure

Before completing this application, please ensure that you are familiar with when Engineering Acceptance is required and the information that must be provided. For further guidance, refer to the Engineering Acceptance (EA) information page.

If your application relates to or includes drinking water or wastewater, you will need to apply for an Engineering Design Approval (EDA) from Selwyn Water. Refer to land development page to find out more and access the Engineering Design Approval (EDA) form.

What to supply with your application

The information required to support your Engineering Acceptance (EA) application will depend on the nature and scope of the proposed works, the requirements of the Engineering Code of Practice, and any conditions of the relevant Resource Consent.

Before submitting your application, please refer to the Engineering Acceptance (EA) information page for details of the supporting information, plans, certificates and other documentation that may be required.
