For more than three units on an existing development site in the residential, commercial/mixed use or industrial zones, where it is sought that these developments connect to or undertake works to water, wastewater, stormwater, water race or land drainage services, a 'Surface Waters Certificate’ & a ‘Capacity and Connection Assessment (CCA)’ must be obtained.

These Infrastructure Servicing Certificates are to be provided with an application for either Engineering Acceptance from Selwyn District Council or Engineering Design Approval from Selwyn Water.

Additionally, Infrastructure Servicing Certificates may be required in support of applications for resource consent.

It is a mandatory requirement that these certificates are also sought for any bare land subdivision and must be lodged with the subdivision application.
