When to apply

This Prior Engineering Acceptance (BCEA) application is ONLY to be used for application for approval of Civil Engineering works where:

  • the development is an urban multi-unit development of between 2 and 12 units;
  • the proposed works involve new or upsized connections to Council infrastructure, or
  • where Council has specifically advised that BCEA is required in support of a Consent application.

Before completing this application, please ensure that you are familiar with when Prior Engineering Acceptance is required and the information that must be provided. Where the proposed development also involves drinking water or wastewater servicing or infrastructure, a separate Engineering Design Approval (EDA) may be required from Selwyn Water. Refer to Selwyn Water’s land development page for EDA requirements and application information.

Note:

This application is not intended for bare land subdivision or where a land use Resource Consent is appicable to the proposed development. If your application relates to any of these then refer to Council's Engineering Acceptance (EA) page.
