SH1 Rolleston Dunns Crossing roundabout

From Monday 12 October, NZTA will be temporarily closing some local roads while crews resurface Walkers Road, Runners Road, both the old and new sections of Dunns Crossing Road, and Newman Road at its intersection with old Dunns Crossing Road. Detours will be in place, along with a temporary 30km/h speed limit.

Night works are also planned for 11 and 12 October, between 9pm and 4.30am. Crews will install 600 metres of bollards along the southbound SH1 shoulder north of the Hoskyns Road intersection. Stop/go traffic management will be in place for southbound traffic only, with delays of less than five minutes expected.

SH1 Rolleston Dunns Crossing roundabout - night works

From Sunday 4 October until Friday 9 October, NZTA will be laying final asphalt surfacing on SH1 and the four approaches to the new roundabout. Traffic will be reduced to one lane on SH1, and temporary traffic lights will be used to manage traffic through the work site between 8pm and 6am with a 30km/h speed limit in place.

Jones Road, between 820 Jones Road and Hoskyns Road

From Monday 31 August until February 2027, NZTA will be installing a one-way traffic management system on Jones Road, between 820 Jones Road and Hoskyns Road. They will be upgrading and relocating underground services, installing new stormwater drainage, building new kerb and channel, and widening and upgrading the road as well as building a new signalised intersection to connect to the future bridge.
