Information about global stormwater consents

Stormwater management relates to the 'day to day' management of the quantity and quality of stormwater discharge. The management of stormwater needs to address quantity effects to control erosion and flooding, and quality effects as run off is one of the principal mechanisms for transfer of road/traffic generated contaminants to the environment.

Discharge consents and integrated stormwater management plans are required for all townships under the Land and Water Regional Plan by June 2018.
